Cabarete is a small, laid-back Caribbean beach village located only 20 minutes away from the Puerto Plata International Airport on the northern shore of the Dominican Republic. Although we only have one main street, it is enough to provide you with endless adventures during the day and a non-stop dance party at night!

Sports and night life

In more modern times (the past 15 or so years) we have also earned the right to claim the title of action-sport capital of the Caribbean. That is because each of our 5 main beaches, our river, and our lagoon provides ideal conditions for some sort of watersport. From windsurfing, kiteboarding, and sailing, to surfing, SUP, and even kayaking, everyone is guaranteed to enjoy the water just the way they like it.

Taking your loved one out for a romantic meal can often be a little harsh on your wallet. Luckily here in Cabarete, we have a vast range of reasonably priced beach side restaurants offering a wide variety of whatever your taste buds fancy. From Italian food to authentic Dominican cuisine, and obviously lots of fresh seafood, you can find it in Cabarete

Cabarete is a touristy town for surfers and family’s. Here you will find a couple of night clubs, like Ojo – a fairly new modern night club plays modern music and regurlarly throws parties. Cabarete has a long beach stretch full of bars and restaurants, that have a special atmoshpere at night time. Here we would reccomend to visit Arriba Bar Cabarete

27 Waterfalls

People describe the 27 Waterfalls as a must-do activity while visiting the North coast of the DR. This excursion is great for people who like an adrenaline rush and who want to see the beautiful scenery that the country has to offer. The 27 waterfalls is a protected area dedicated to preserving the beautiful park and helping the local communities. In fact, part of the entrance fee goes directly to a community fund.

We recommend: going as early as possible and during the week to avoid large crowds, putting on bug spray + sunscreen, and wearing clothes you don’t mind getting very wet!
